The study examines the staffing policies and plans of 21 American colleges with less than 10,000 full-time equivalent students, providing hard data on their hiring trends over the past three years, as well as projections for these trends looking forward. Covering several types of college employees, including adjunct and full-time faculty, and with a special emphasis on administrative staffing, the study provides statistics detailing employee age, employee salaries, overall spending, retiring trends, student employment trends, and more. Personnel from numerous departments are represented, including human resources, information technology, the academic library, student financial aid, the admissions office, public relations, the registrar's office, accounts payable, the graduate studies office, career services, the office of the president, and many more. Data is broken out by institution size and public or private status, and statistics are given per full-time enrolled student.
