North America colleges increased their spending on tutoring by 7.95% in the 2018-19 academic year and then by and expected 17.2% in the 2019-20 academic year.

63% of programs sampled offer embedded tutors.

71.4% of research universities in the sample offer walk-in tutoring for which an appointment is not needed.

For 4-year colleges, tutoring by appointment accounted for more than 70% of total tutoring staff hours.
