The study looks at how and how much college students use very large monitors in their academic libraries. Data in the report is derived from a random sample survey of 922 American college students conducted in February and March 2025. Findings are broken out by a broad range of variables with separate data sets presented by gender, age, academic major, income level, college size, public/private status and many other characteristics. The study helps its readers to answer questions such as: who uses very large computer monitors and how much? What do they use them for? Are students interested in more or different types of very large monitors? Which features of these monitors do they value the most and what is their wish list for additional features?
Just a few of this 175-page report’s many findings are that:

16.79% of respondents have used very large monitors in their academic libraries.

Younger students (under 20) are the least likely to use large monitors (12.62%), while students aged 20-28 are the most likely (around 21% usage).

Students raised abroad have the highest rate of using large monitors (32.12%), much higher than domestic students.

Males (21.43%) use large monitors more than females (14.52%) or transgender students (7.69%).

28.17% of survey participants would like to see their academic libraries set up a separate space or area for use of very large monitors.

The capacity to Connect Personal Mobile Devices to very large monitors: This was ranked as the most important functionality by 42.36% of respondents.

5.63% of students sampled use very large monitors in the academic library for coding projects.
