Press Release | Primary Research Group
Primary Research Group has published the Survey of Law School Faculty & Staff Best Practices in Distance Legal Education, ISBN 978-1-57440-634-4

This study looks closely at how law schools in North American have transitioned to online legal education, querying law school faculty and staff about the kinds of programs and applications that they are using, how much of and how valuable is the help that they have received from their institutions, and how they view online legal education in light of their new experience.  The study helps its readers to answer questions such as: how are faculty keeping in touch with students? How helpful have the law library, IT department and various other departments been in helping faculty to teach online?  What has been the role of the course management system? Zoom? Skype? WebEx? How satisfied are faculty with the help that they have received?

Just a few of this 83-page report’s many findings are that:

  • A plurality of 42.59% preferred to deliver course content through Zoom or other group meeting application but 31.48% largely preferred delivery through their course management system.
  • Approximately 15% predominantly delivered their lectures through downloadable video links, viewed by students when convenient for them.
  • 22.22% had established a chat forum for their classes

Data in the page report is broken out by size and type of institution, by tuition level, for public and private institutions , law school ranking and by other useful variables.  A PDF edition of this report is currently available directly from Primary Research Group for $115.00; a print edition at the same price will be available for shipment on April 16th, 2020 and can be ordered now.  Site licenses are also available.
